Leading Serving Our Seniors into the Future Serving Our Seniors Board of Trustees is made up of 15 citizen leaders. They oversee the work of the agency and its staff. Their job is to make sure the mission is fulfilled. MISSION: To provide services that support Erie County citizens, age 60+, to continue healthy living and maintain their functional independence. We would like you to meet five of the members of Serving Our Seniors’ Board of Trustees. Sparky Weilnau, President, Milan Twp. Joined the board in Sept. 2019 and became President of the Board January 1, 2021. Under his leadership he aspires to make Serving Our Seniors more innovative and enjoy greater accomplishments for aging well in later life. Sharon Turini-Kent, Vice President, Perkins Twp. Sharon’s first full term started January 2016. She is Vice-President and led the board as President from July 2020 – December 2020. She has a sense of commitment to support older citizens and to help her community. Through Serving Our Seniors she is able to do both. Brenda Register-Jones, Secretary, Sandusky. She has served as the Secretary of the Board since January 2012. Volunteering time to Serving Our Seniors is a two-fold mission/ministry. She gives of her time and input to benefit the elders of our community. In return, she gains valuable information on practices and services. Dave Brink, CPA, Treasurer, Sandusky. Dave has been the Treasurer of Serving Our Seniors Board since January 2020. He oversees the management of Serving Our Seniors’ finances and keeps the Board of Trustees apprised of the agency’s financial health, trends and events. Miriam Tommas, Trustee, Oxford Twp. Miriam has been a Trustee since 2012. She is also Chair of the Communities Relations Committee and represents the needs of rural older adults. 7
