We all appreciate the comforting things in life – a warm bed, great food, a crackling fire, Sunday Mass. Our residents enjoy all of those wonderful things, but it’s the friendships and sense of community here that make The Commons of Providence home. We share stories, laughter, smiles, and faith – the good things in life. At The Commons of Providence you have everything you need… and everything you love. It’s why home is here! A Labor of Love Janie Thompson volunteers every week at the Humane Society of Erie County. Her assignment is a labor of love, as she spends her time giving comforting companionship to dogs, puppies, cats and kittens. The interaction with Janie helps the pets with socialization and prepares them to meet with people who are considering adopting a pet. Janie said, “The Humane Society is such a happy place. I love coming here and the animals love to see me. They are all well cared for and healthy.” Call the Humane Society of Erie County (419-626- 6220) for more information about joining Janie and others in volunteering with the happy tail waggers and cuddly felines. 16
