Serving Our Seniors Report to the Community 11,465 Calls to Serving Our Seniors for Assistance 2,890 Individual Older Adults Called for Help with a Question/ Problem/Concern Nutrition 25,936 Rural Hot Home Delivered Meals 584 Meals Served at Rural Luncheon Group (due to Covid-19) Affordable Transportation 274 Transportation Clients 16,494 Subsidized Rides throughout Erie County 399 Out of Town Trips to Health Care Appointments (Trips suspended March 17, 2020 due to Covid-19) 115 Individual Older Adults used Out of Town Transportation to Health Care Appointments(Oct. 1, 2019 through March 16, 2020) Priority Programs 27 New Ramps Installed 125 Ramps in Service throughout Erie County 75 Handyman Services 220 Food Boxes funded for older adults during Stay At Home Orders/Stay Safe Guidelines Services to Support Independent Living at Home Education Offered Medicare Education 943 Individual and Group Counseling Sessions October 2019 – September 2020 GREETINGS & WELCOME TO 2021 The good news is that Serving Our Seniors will continue to advocate for Erie County residents, ages 60+ for another five (5) years. Thank you, to the Erie County voters who approved the Erie County Senior Services Tax Levy on November 3, 2020, with a 67% approval. We appreciate the trust that has been placed in Serving Our Seniors. We will continue to do our very best assisting and advocating for Erie county residents, ages 60+, to age well as they grow older. Listed on this page is our Report to the Community. These are the statistics related to the services we provided in 2020. Please remember that these numbers represent “real people,” – your family members, neighbors, friends and you, who may have received our services. 2021 is the year of Serving Our Seniors will celebrate its 25th Anniversary. It was in December of 1996 that we first opened our doors. It truly is an honor and a privilege to work on behalf of Erie County’s older adult population. I will soon be joining the ranks!
