Thanks to the generosity of many individual donors, the Mylander Foundation, the Dorn Foundation and the other philanthropic entities, who wish to remain anonymous, Serving Our Seniors is expanding and renovating its office. If you were one who walked into our office for a Medicare appointment and had to stand in the hallway to wait your turn, you understand why more space was needed. Or maybe you came to see an advocate to help you with your problem/concern and we couldn’t see you, because the two private meeting rooms were in use. Those are just two examples of why more space is needed. There are others. Demolition began in May 2020 and by the time you read this magazine the expansion/renovation will be 75% complete. Thanks to Mark Norman, retired Design-Build Manager, who is volunteering as the “Project Manager,” all work is going according to plan. The office should be fully functional August 24, 2020. Upon completion, there will be five private meeting Serving Our Seniors Office Is Under Renovation and Expansion By Sue Daugherty rooms for advocates to meet with those in need of our help. There will be a larger work area for the advocates, and a larger meeting room which is used for me to meet with my co-workers on a regular basis, Board meetings and where the volunteers lend us their help with a variety of tasks and projects. On behalf of all of us who work at Serving Our Seniors and on behalf of our clients who are helped by Serving Our Seniors, thank you donors for making this renovation/expansion possible.
