Jane Ann Cummings’ job as Activity Director at the Erie County Senior Center is to arrange trips for adventurous retirees who want to do just that. Have you thought about taking one of the Erie County Senior Center’s trips? Here’s what some of the travelers had to say about their experiences: Joanne Lee enjoyed her trips to Mackinac Island, Michigan; Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and the Ark Encounter in Williamstown, Kentucky. “You’re able to see things that you normally wouldn’t see on your own,” she reports. She also appreciated the tight-knit atmosphere of the tour bus and said, “I got to know people I wouldn’t have met otherwise.” Traveler’s Advisory: Get up and go! Ginny and Phil Piddock went on the Senior Center’s trips to Mississippi, South Dakota and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. They described the accommodations as “wonderful” and appreciated that the tour guides ensured no one had to walk very far from the bus to the tourist attraction. Each day enjoyable activities were planned. Bea and Earl Rosen have taken many trips with the Erie County Senior Center and treasure the memories they made in Lancaster, Pennsylvania; Mississippi; Pigeon Forge, Tennessee; Mackinac Island, Michigan; and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. On the way to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, they stopped to visit the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. They found the trips were a very good value considering all of the amenities and accommodations provided. Earl said, “It’s nice to sit back and have someone else do the planning!” (And the driving!) The Rosens highly recomme d all of the Erie County Senior Center’s travel trips. Plans for 2019 include trips to Branson, Missouri; Mackinac Island, Michigan: Williamsburg, Virginia; and the Grand Canyon.
