I remember when we first opened Serving Our Seniors Office in 1996. We occupied a small section of the Erie County Senior Center. 99.9% of our clients would call us. Rarely, did anyone need to see us in the office. It remained that way until 2007. That was the year we planned our move to our current address – 310 E. Boalt Street, Sandusky. We moved to this larger office January 1, 2008. Fast forward 12 years to 2020 and we have found that aging has become more complicated and the nature of the problems are more confidential. The number of retirees and soon-to-be retirees walking into our office exceeded our capacity to meet with them, privately. This was especially true during Medicare Open Enrollment (Oct. 15 – Dec. 7). Serving Our Seniors Renovation Funded 100% by Donors By Sue Daugherty Thanks to Mark Norman, who volunteered his time to be the “Project Manager” for the renovation and The Mylander Foundation, The Randolph J. and Estelle M. Dorn Foundation, other philanthropic entities who wish to remain anonymous, and many private donors, 100% of the renovation was paid for with private contributions. No Senior Services Tax Levy money was used to fund this needed project. !" # $ % # # ! " #$! " % " !
