Did you know there is a program that helps individuals afford their Medicare Part B Premiums and co-pays? The program is called QMB. In 2017, 7.7 million people were on the QMB Program. To qualify, in 2020/2021: Single Married Gross monthly income cannot be greater than: $1,084 $1,457 Single Married Total savings & investments cannot be greater than: $7,860 $11,800 If you are covered by the QMB program you will receive a white paper ID card from Medicaid that shows Ohio Medicaid, Qualified Medicare Beneficiary. When you see a doctor, specialist or receive health care services you will show your Medicare card and the QMB white paper card. You should always explain to the provider of services that you should not be billed for any costs because of your coverage. It is important for you to understand, that if you have Medicare Parts A& B and have the QMB program, providers may not bill you for a Medicare deductible, coinsurance / copay. The State Medicaid program may pay for these remaining costs. It is the provider’s responsibility to bill the Medicaid program -- not bill you.
