From the
Director
I have been receiving such positive feed-back about Serving
Our Seniors Magazine. I’m thrilled each time I read or hear
someone say that they look forward to receiving our quarterly
magazine in their mailbox.
Direct mail is the most expensive way to communicate, but it
is clear to us that it is the most effective way to communicate
with you. If you are one of the readers who enjoy the magazine,
will you do me a favor? Please call one of the advertisers that
you see in this issue of Serving Our Seniors Magazine and tell
them that you saw their ad in this magazine. Share that you
appreciate their advertising support and you recognize that our
advertisers are responsible for making this magazine possible.
If you like surfng the web or using Facebook we have a new
website and a new Facebook page. You can read the Serving
Our Seniors Magazine on the home page of our website by
clicking on the magazine icon. It’s fun to use! The magazine’s
pages turn just like a hard copy magazine. You can share the
magazine with your friends and family by directing them to our
web page at www.servingourseniors.org.
If you use Facebook, go to our page www.facebook.com/

Understanding Health Care Reform: What it Means
for Medicare & Medicaid Consumers in 2014.
I hope this makes it easier for you to see what we are
doing and how we can help you to maintain your independence.

Smiles Calendar
To Raise Money for Oral Health Care
Medicare insurance does not cover
dental care or dentures. Last year the
2013 Smiles Calendar raised $3,300.00,
which was used in 2013 to provide up to
$500.00 of dental care per person. As of
August 2013 Serving Our Seniors still had
80 people on its waiting list seeking dental
care and/or denture care.
To raise money for those in need of
oral health care Serving Our Seniors is
selling a
2014 Calendar Girls (& Guys)
“Smiles” Calendar.
This calendar was
created with the help of senior citizen
volunteer models – men & women -- from
Erie, Huron and Ottawa County ranging
in age from 60 to 95. It’s a fun and sassy
calendar to make you smile, so others
can smile, too. It’s the perfect Christmas
gift! You will feel good purchasing the
2014 “Smiles” Calendar, for $10.00 each,
knowing that the proceeds will be used to
provide dental services for a less fortunate
senior citizen resident of Erie County.
Calendars can be purchased at:
