Heating Assistance Is Available Through Serving Our Seniors Serving Our Seniors recently received a $20,000.00 grant to provide financial assistance to those who are struggling to remain current and connected with their heating utility. This can be bulk fuel, such as propane; or natural gas or electric. It must be your primary source for heating. Serving Our Seniors is not here to duplicate heating assistance. If we know of a heating assistance program that can solve your problem, first, we will help you obtain the help through that organization, first. Then we will determine if financial assistance from Serving Our Seniors is still necessary. To see if you qualify for Serving Our Seniors help, so you can remain current or connected to your heating utility, contact our office at 419-624-1856 or e-mail Mail@ServingOurSeniors.org or walk in at 310 E. Boalt Street – Sandusky. We Can Help You Afford Dental CareThrough Serving Our Seniors Do you need to see a dentist, but believe you can’t afford it? Think again! Thanks to Family Health Services and the Wightman- Wieber Foundation, Erie County residents, age 60 or better, may receive a FREE oral examination and cleaning. These visits are being funded by a grant made to Family Health Services by the Wightman- Wieber Foundation. If the examination finds that more dental care is needed beyond a cleaning, Serving Our Seniors can fund up to $500.00 of dental care to those who qualify. This care is made available on a repayment basis. The monthly repayment can be as little as $5.00/month for those who qualify. We look at each unique circumstance and tailor the repayment so it does not cause a financial hardship. No interest is charged as part of the repayment.
