LET US HELP YOU PLAN! jenniferhupp@gmail.com • 419-515-8185 Jennifer Hupp Realtor Volunteers can come and go, but not this group of Meals on Wheels volunteers. They love delivering meals to the people on their route, in the city of Sandusky. They enjoy it so much that they have taken it upon themselves to build a “back-up system”. This ensures the same familiar, smiling, faces deliver lunch each day. Roger and Dee Kleckner, have been volunteering since 2012. They are snowbirds. Dee mentioned to Linda Kelley that they are looking for others to cover their delivery route, while they are away during the winter months. Linda said she would enjoy doing this and recruited her friends Linda Eschels and Janice Obergefell. They have been volunteering since 2017. Together the three ladies are a rotating duo. One week Linda and Linda will deliver together and the next week one friend will rotate off, while the other rotates in. They work together to make sure their route is never interrupted. When Roger and Dee return, they get to have their delivery route back. Linda, Linda and Janice remain on “stand by,” should they be needed to cover for Roger a d Dee. Today, the Erie County Senior Center’s need for Meals on Wheels volunteers is critical . They are desperate for volunteers. Can you give 1 day a week from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. to help others in need of a hot, nutritious, meal? You pick the day you wish to volunteer and receive reimbursement for gas. You can volunteer as an individual, a couple or recruit a friend and volunteer together. For ore information, call the Eri e County Senio Center a t 419-626-2560. Ask for Robert, May or Carolyn. Thank you Vermilion Township and Vermilion Twp Fire Department. Serving Our Seniors needed volunteers to help in “cleaning up” its steel ramp p rts, so they c n remain in good repair and continue to be used into the future. Serving Our Seniors made its plea known and Chief Triana and his colleagues stepped up and came to our rescue. They made a considerable dent in the work that needed to be done. A “Shout Out” to Vermilion Township Trustees, Vermilion Township Fire Department and Chief Frank Triana Fire Chief Frank Triana helping Serving Our Seniors Ramp Program on his off hours.
