If you have traditional Medicare, you can choose to buy a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan (Medicare Part D) - or not. You can also use this time period to shop around and see if there is better coverage available for you in 2022, at a lower price. (That does happen.) If you have a Medicare Part D plan, today, don’t assume you will be happy with the same plan in 2022. At the start of each new year, Part D insurance can change the price of the co-pay, the monthly premium, which drugs it will cover and which drugs it will not cover. It can also limit the quantity of pills it will cover. If you don’t “shop” for a 2022 Medicare Part D, you could find out the hard way that your drug coverage has changed. If you are an Erie County resident, and age 60 or better, call Serving Our Seniors to make a Medicare Part D appointment. Serving Our Seniors does not sell insurance nor do we care from whom you purchase Serving Our Seniors Can Help You with Medicare Part D your insurance. We just want you to be an informed consumer before you make your buying decision. To request a Medicare Part D appointment, call 419-624-1856. Don’t wait until the last minute. Appointments fill up quickly. Due to the increased incidence of Covid-19 infections we are limiting the number of face-to-face apppointments. Most Part D counseling will be by phone or by ZOOM.
