Janis Grose, Trustee, Milan, joined Serving Our Seniors Board of Trustees in August 2021. This is her first experience serving on a non-profit board and looks forward to representing older adults living in the Village of Milan. She is a retired Certified Nurse Anesthetist and recently moved to Milan. Darlene Walk, Trustee, Sandusky, was appointed to Serving Our Seniors Board of Trustees by Erie County Commissioner, Pat Shenigo in January 2021. Darlene also serves on the Board Nominating and Development Committee and Policy & Program Committee. Prior to being a board member, Darlene has been volunteering for Serving Our Seniors as a driver for the Out of Town Transportation Program. She retired from Firelands Regional Medical Center and Erie Residential Living. She has been a long time resident of Sandusky and is eager to represent the “new” senior citizen of today. Steve Hafner, Trustee, Perkins Twp, has been volunteering for Serving Our Seniors as a member of the Fund Development Committee and Finance Committee since 2010. He was instrumental in the development of Serving Our Seniors Magazine, first published in April 2011. He has been a member of the Board of Trustees since January 2019. Steve is a partner with the financial advisory firm, True Alpha Wealth Management. Cathy Kirby, Trustee, Perkins Twp, was appointed to Serving Our Seniors Board of Trustees by Erie County Commissioner, Steve Shoffner in August of 2020. She also serves on the Board Nominating and Development Committee. Cathy retired from Ford/Visteon in the Human Resources Department. Judy Williams, Trustee, Vermilion, joined Serving Our Seniors Board of Trustees in 2015. She is an active community member of Vermilion and wanted to ensure that older residents of Erie County, who live on the far east side of the county, are aware of Serving Our Seniors. She is the chairperson for the Policy & Program Committee, which facilitates discussion on program priorities, current trends and evaluates the effectiveness of Serving Our Seniors services. Leading Serving Our Seniors into the Future Serving Our Seniors Board of Trustees is made up of 15 citizen leaders. They oversee the work of the agency and its staff. Their job is to make sure the mission is fulfilled. We would like you to meet five of the members of Serving Our Seniors’ Board of Trustees. MISSION: To provide services that support the Erie County citizens ages 60+, to continue healthy living and maintain their functional independence. 9
