Acts of Kindness Are Starting to Abound
Brenda Register-Jones, is the Secretary of the Board of Trustees for Serving Our
Seniors and is a substitute teacher at Sandusky City Schools. To support Serving Our
Seniors in its endeavor to make Erie County a “Compassionate Community”, Brenda
coordinated “A Week of Kindness” at Osborn School and found a donor to fund a
“Kindness Celebration”. The children were on their best behavior!
PERKINS TOWNSHIP: Testing Site for Kindness Theory
Can one kind act a day change the culture of a community?
If performed by enough people in a given location, we
believe it can! Serving Our Seniors & OHgo are putting this
theory to the test in Perkins Township, Ohio.
Serving Our Seniors and OHgo, a youth development
organization, has formed a collaboration with Perkins
Township, Perkins Police, Perkins Schools, a Perkins
resident, Dr. Bob Daniels and Ohio Veterans Home. We
are working to implement “One K1ndAct”. This is a “project”
to create a social movement of kindness. In the end, we
will see if enough people perform One K1nd Act per day,
will Perkins Township have a new reputation as a culture
of kindness?
You can be a part of this social movement. Try to get
“caught” doing at least One K1nd Act a day in Perkins
Township. You may be recognized with a OneK1ndAct
wristband or smiley face token and an opportunity to
share your kindness story to the Facebook page @
OHgoONEKINDACT or on
/
ServingOurSeniorsErieCounty.
Serving Our Seniors has submitted a grant to fund the
purchase of more wristbands and smiley face tokens to be
distributed by Serving Our Seniors and Perkins Schools.
(Cross your fingers for us!)
Join the movement in Perkins Township or start a kindness
movement where you live. Check out

tab for the Williams family and
asked the server to tell them
how impressed they were by
such well-mannered children.
The students were
appreciated for
their kind conduct
with an ice cream
treat on the last
day of school.
Senior Advocate,

front of the students and
acknowledges them for
participation in “Kindness
