The Erie County Health Department has received a grant to fund small home
modifications for the purposes of preventing falls in the home or apartment
where Erie County residents, ages 60+, live.
The fall prevention modifications include, but are not necessarily limited to:
Installing grab bars, raised toilet seats, stair step railings inside the home
and stair step railings outside the home.
The fall prevention home modifications are small modifications. The total
cost of the modifications cannot exceed $300.00/home or apartment. These
modifications can be made to a rented home or apartment, the person living
in that residence is an Erie County resident and age 60 or better.
Serving Our Seniors is using
Hoppy’s Scooters and Medical Supplies
to perform the fall prevention home modifications. Hoppy’s Scooters and
Medical Supplies employs Gene Hopkins and Shalon Rogers. Both have
passed a criminal background check. The business carries general liability
insurance, workers compensation and an honesty bond.
