With
new
3DMammography
breast cancer has
nowhere to hide.
The Most Advanced Breast Imaging Technology Available
Firelands Regional Medical Center is the
only one
in the region to offer this remarkable new technology in breast cancer detection.
3DMammography takes pictures of your breast tissue in very thin slices–
about the thickness of a dime
–instead of one single picture.
Then a computer assembles all the slices into one 3D image – but in a way that allows radiologists to actually
scroll through
the
individual slices, much like looking through the pages of a book.
By studying your breast tissue in this detail, radiologists can detect up to 41% more invasive breast cancers than with conventional
mammograms, and reduce false positives by up to 40%. Visit
firelands.com/3Dmammogram
.
To schedule your mammogram please call 419-557-7840.
Center for Breast Care
Self-referrals Accepted
Firelands accepts self-referrals (no physician order needed) for screening
mammograms. You must be 35 years of age or older, have no personal history
of breast cancer, and have no breast complaints.

Serving Our Seniors is someone to call when you need help.

It only takes a moment for the world to change. It
might be winning the lottery, but more likely it could
be something devastating – like an illness or loss of a
loved one, an accident of any kind, even loss from your
job. How we handle it will determine the rest
of our days.
We are born with rebellious genes from our ancestors
who built this country. They came from other lands
where life was unbearable enough for them to leave
all things familiar and make a new life. When that time
comes to us in another way, it should inspire action.
Not to submit, but to make some changes.
An Englishman, long ago, said “Americans are
contradictory tinged with wildness and reflecting the
wonder of a new untamed
world.” It reminds us and
takes us back to our own
relatives who had the guts to
gamble on a new way of life.
A beautiful example of using
grief creatively and humanly
is “In the midst of Winter”
edited by Mary Jane Moffat, “In the midst of winter
I finally learned that there was in me an invincible
summer.”
Keep the best part of the past and plan a new future.
This is easier said than done, but possible. We need
to be gentle with ourselves, give ourselves the love we
miss and the courage to be happy again.
“Age is opportunity no less than youth itself, tho’ in
another dress. And as the evening twilight fades away,
the sky is filled with stars invisible by day.” -- Henry
Wadsworth Longfellow
