Leslie Griffin is 45 years old and
a talented singer, who performs in
Serving Our Seniors Spring Shows.
She recently discovered she is also
a painter and has opened a small
business called
“The Crooked
Canvas”,
located on 123 West
Market Street, Sandusky.
Her business causes people, of all ages, to put down
their smart phones and bond over a shared artistic
experience, filled with fun and memorable human
interaction. If you are a grandparent you should
know that some of her customers are grandparents
who take a class with their grandchildren and great-
grandchildren. Everyone in the class paints the same
picture and they leave with their own piece of art.
Others attend the “adult only” events, i.e., retirement
parties, birthday parties, couples night out. They bring

their bottle of wine, relax and enjoy discovering their
artistic abilities.
If you are 65 + you can take advantage of her services
for $15.00/person. The $15.00 covers the cost of
instruction and the art supplies to make the painting.
(Bring your own beverage whether that is a soft
drink or wine.) Because Leslie is working to build her
business, she is willing to teach as few as one person
and can accommodate 25 people.
Leslie’s philosophy on aging is “Everyday is a gift.”
She wants people to know that art doesn’t have to be
expensive and it is surprising how many people have
natural ability that they are not aware of.
