They helped us to manage his care in an
environment of trust and respect.
They guided us in making educated and informed
decisions regarding his healthcare.
They provided us with ease, comfort and peace.
Most importantly, they gave us the energy to
focus on what mattered most. Each other.
We found comfort in the care and support of
Stein Hospice. You can too.
Tomorrow’s comfort begins today.

The Assurance Network: Give a Ride, Get A Ride
communicates back to the
client by sending a text.
“The Assurance Network
will make it more flexible for
people to get rides when
they need a ride,” said
LaGodney. Imagine your
boss calls you to come in
early for work. You want to
come in, but you don’t have
a ride until your scheduled
time. Or, you are at work
and business is slow. Your boss has you
clock out 2 ½ hours early. If you can’t get a ride home,
all you can do is wait for the bus to pick you up at 5:00
p.m. The Assurance Transportation Network can solve
those transportation problems.
For more information about driving for The Assurance
Network call Laura LaGodney at 419-626-1048, ext. 3193.
Ability Works, Inc.,
is a non-profit organization that helps
Erie County residents with developmental disabilities
pursue employment, recreation, leisure, and personal
development. For these clients, lack of transportation
is their greatest barrier. That is why Ability Works,
Inc. started a new program called
“The Assurance
Network.”
Its slogan is
“Give a Ride, Get a Ride.”
If you are passionate about people and looking to put
a little money in your pocket, consider getting paid for
driving for The Assurance Network. Drivers are needed
in Erie, Huron and Ottawa Counties. Not just anyone can
drive for The Assurance Network, however. “There is a
certification process that the drivers have to go through,”
said Laura LaGodney, COO, at Ability Works, Inc..
The drivers are not employees of Ability Works. They
are their own business, which means they decide
when they work – and when they don’t. Each driver
must have his/her own smart phone. Why? Because
clients request their rides using a smart phone
app. The driver who wants to provide the ride(s)
