make time for regular exercise
as part of their lifestyle.
Debbie is part of a walking
group that meets every Saturday
morning, but she also told me
about the others she knows who
use various facilities throughout the Vermilion area to
get their regular dose of exercise.

Meet Dave Pigman, a retired
detective from the Norwalk Police
Department. On March 22, 2016
Dave started his first day working
for the Erie County Prosecutor’s
Office. Kevin Baxter, Erie County
Prosecutor hired Dave Pigman to be Erie County’s
FINANCIAL ELDER ABUSE INVESTIGATOR.
This new position is part-time and is being funded by
Serving Our Seniors as a “pilot” project. The staff at
Serving Our Seniors has long believed that elder-fraud
and elder-exploitation is a problem in Erie County, but
had no evidence to prove the size of the problem. That
is why we are funding this position for 12 months.
The purpose of the pilot project is to objectively
validate – or invalidate -- the need for Erie County to
have a Financial Elder Abuse Investigator working to
catch those criminals
who are preying on
Erie County’s 60+
population. At the end
of 12 months Serving
Our Seniors and the
Prosecutor’s office will
assess the outcome of having a Financial Elder Abuse
Investigator on staff and make a recommendation
to continue or terminate the Financial Elder Abuse
Investigator Project.
